Hey everyone! It has been absolutely forever since I last posted. I've been so busy with school and everything has just been really hectic, plus I haven't had anything really exciting to post, so I decided to hold off until I actually have something cool to show you guys. So here we are, a Mac haul in mid-February. Basically, I finally decided to break down and start building my own Mac palette. I've been wanting to do that for a while but I always talked myself out of it because it can be pretty expensive if you try to fill it up all at once. Let's get started.
So this is the very first thing I saw when I opened my box. As you can see, there are some eyeshadow refill pans on the top as well as a pressed pigment, while the palette itself and the insert are beneath them.
This is the pressed pigment I got and it's in "Amethyst". It's an absolutely gorgeous, sparkly pinkish purple. I swatched it in the Mac store near me and I fell in love instantly.
The first shadow I picked up was "Aquadesiac", which is a vibrant, beautiful blue. I don't normally go for bright blue shadows but I fell in love with this when I swatched it.
"Creme de Violet" is another color I got. I heard mixed reviews on this eyeshadow online. Some people said that it was hard to blend, although very pretty, and others said that it blended like a dream. Overall, I decided to give it a try because it was just too pretty to pass up.
I honestly did not plan on buying this eyeshadow before I went to the Mac store in the mall near me. This is "Vibrant Grape" and it is the perfect purple color. Online it looks much darker than it truly is and I am so glad that the Mac employee in the store swatched it for me while I was there. It's so so gorgeous and I am so excited to use it. (If you can't tell, I'm a little obsessed with purple shadows right now...) Also, this shadow reminds me of one of the eyeshadows in the Lorac AfterGlo palette that was released this summer..although this shadow is much more pigmented and takes less time to build up good coverage.
This is "Fig. 1" and it's a very nice dark purple, very smooth matte shade. It looks like the perfect crease color for a purple eye look. Once again, I didn't plan on buying this until I swatched it in person. It's just so smooth and so pretty..I couldn't pass it up.
And here we have - you guessed it - another purple. This is "Parfait Amour" and it is such a pretty light purple. I'm really excited to start incorporating more purples into my eyeshadow looks this year. Gosh. It's so pretty.
Aaaaand the final shade I ordered is "Plumage". It's a very very dark blue color and I'll probably use this alone when I wear it. I'll likely just pack it on the lid for a really dark, intense look..and maybe I'll blend a black shadow in the crease or something. I'm not sure yet, I just know that this is gorgeous.
This is my palette so far. I still have 8 spaces left, but I'm sure I'll be able to fill them in no time at all. Also, you may notice that I have an eyeshadow in the palette that wasn't shown here and that is "Soba". I've had it for a while and I decided to try my hand at depotting once I got my palette in the mail, and it turned out really well. I usually use "Soba" for my eyebrows when I don't feel like using my eyebrow pencil and it gives me a more natural look. I have swatched it below.
Thank you so much for reading this post and I hope I was helpful for anyone thinking about getting some of these shadows! Until next time, stay lovely. ♥
